Georgia Adele Turner
Georgia led council communications for 25 years. This has involved managing creative, brand, campaigns, digital and social, media, internal comms, stakeholder management, and consultation. She has refreshed and reviewed her teams, and restructured with updated target operating models throughout her career.
As shared Head of Comms for a two-unitary corporate functions partnership comprising Bournemouth and Poole councils, she worked with different cultures, different strategic priorities, and different approaches and resources within comms.
Georgia was the Communications and Engagement lead for the Dorset LGR programme. A member of the programme board, she was instrumental in shaping the case for structural change.
Following government approval of the request, Georgia aligned with the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole LGR programme, as Comms and Branding lead. Over 13 months, she oversaw programme comms including internal engagement, branding and launch, support for service workstreams, and day one readiness of her own function.
After vesting day, she created a new directorate, merging council and departmental teams, working to a new corporate communications strategy.
She’s been a freelance consultant since 2022, providing critical friend advice to comms leaders across the public sector.
Georgia spends her spare time planning or taking adventures, supporting conservation charity Tigers4Ever and co-curating CPD and wellbeing event CommsUnplugged.
